I’ve had a few blogs through the years, but they were more personal so I didn’t really try to share them. But I found this post from 2017 about music that I thought was pretty cool because it is interesting to see what my thought process was ten years ago. Unfortunately some of the links to the songs weren’t working and I couldn’t find them even with the Wayback Machine, so some of those puddles were just lost in time. But anyway, enjoy these few words from a version of me from ten years ago.
Rose Puddles – 2017 Thoughts
I’m busy moving so I haven’t posted in a while, but the good news is I really dig my new house. Life is pretty wonderful. I haven’t been able to do much since I’ve been so busy packing and stuff, but one thing that has been constant has been MUSIC. I’ve been listening to it day and day out. So I figured that if I was going to post anything it should be about music.
Music is beautiful. It can convey so many different emotions and just really take your mind through a journey. Sometimes I find an album where if I close my eyes I feel like the artist takes my me on an adventure through his mind. The colors, the visuals, and just everything about it takes my soul and strums it along. It’s wonderful. Music has always been a huge part of my life. HUGE. I write lyrics all the time. I have a few instruments lying around I want to learn how to play. One day I’ll write a hit or two. For now, I’ll just make playlists that convey how I feel.
Pastel Music
This playlist feels like a pastel colored forest to me. It’s just calming and soothing. But it has its share of irregularities in there because what’s the fun of sharing music if you don’t put some interesting sounds in there. Kind of like my life. Sometimes it’s lavender and pastel green. Other times it’s midnight blue with a golden red sun. Sometimes it’s just black and white. The beauty about life and music is that there’s so much to experience, so much to feel, so much that can just grab your soul and completely gravitate it.
When I think about a rose puddle, I envision a rose perched atop a puddle and a petal just slowly falling and landing on the puddle and sending pastel colored ripples throughout it. Some pinks, reds, light greens, and light blues. Even some yellow. This playlist kind of ripples through your mind. It’s gentle, but it’s vibrant. It’s simple, but enticing. Every ripple is just a different color.
There were more songs but I felt it was getting a bit long. Hope you enjoyed that raw, unedited footage into Daniel’s 2017 mind and musical preferences. Honestly the music stuff hasn’t changed much and I’ve actually been having a Brockhampton resurgence on my playlists.
Hope you enjoyed your time here! Have a beautiful day.
Having you here was a virtu.
